American President Donald Trump said on Monday that U.S. tariffs on South Korea would increase from 15% to 25%, citing the country's failure to live up to its deal with the United States.

Trump said in a post on Truth Social that tariffs on South Korean imports would go up from current 15% levels, and would be applicable to industries such as autos, lumber, and pharmaceuticals, as well as all other reciprocal tariffs.

“South Korea's Legislature is not living up to its Deal with the United States,” Trump said in the post.

“President Lee and I reached a Great Deal for both Countries on July 30, 2025, and we reaffirmed these terms while I was in Korea on October 29, 2025. Why hasn't the Korean Legislature approved it?” he added.
