It accuses Jane Street of insider activity, which helped trigger the 2022 breakdown of TerraUSD and LUNA.&nbsp;Following the lawsuit, many in the crypto community took a closer look at Jane Street's trades. According to crypto analyst Justin Bechler, Bitcoin had shown repeated sharp sell-offs around 10 a.m. ET, when the stock market opens. He reportedly said that the U.S. is in “deep negotiations” with Iran in order to reach a deal before the deadline expires.&nbsp;Crude oil prices dipped following the news, with Brent crude oil prices down 0.68% on the day and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil prices down 1.38% The&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/USO">United States Oil Fund (USO)</a> dipped 0.77% in pre-market trade, with retail sentiment falling to ‘bearish’ from ‘neutral’ territory over the past day. Chatter remained at ‘high’ levels.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Retail Traders Flag ‘Bull Trap’ Risks</h2>Many users on the platforms expressed caution. However, the 365-day moving average remained elevated at 87.5%.CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr. noted that a full market reset is normally marked by a sharp decline in the 365-day average. During the 2018–2019 cycle, that metric fell to 63.8% before the crypto winter set in. “The current picture is different,” he wrote.&nbsp;According to him, the market is experiencing severe internal compression in profitability, but it is still far from a true structural reset. “As long as the long-term average holds near 87.5%, this is better described as a prolonged cyclical correction with elevated two-way volatility, rather than a full bearish-phase reset,” Adler wrote.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Short Covering Supports Bitcoin Price, Not Fresh Demand</h2>JDK Analysis also suggested that Bitcoin may be showing a false show of strength. It noted that spot markets are seeing active selling, while futures data showed aggressive buying largely driven by short covering rather than new long positions, which has helped keep prices supported near current levels.&nbsp;In a&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/The_JDK99/status/2039250945788325909?s=20">post</a> on X, JDK said that as short positions unwind, the temporary bid supporting prices could fade, leaving the market exposed to continued selling pressure. At the same time, the U.S. dollar strengthened, the Federal Reserve issued hawkish signals, and Treasury yields increased. As a result, risk assets like BTC and tech stocks declined as capital flowed into safer investments, the post added.“After the 2021-2023 Bitcoin drawdown of -75% from $66.1K in Nov 2021 to $15.6K in Nov 2022 following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, it took Bitcoin two and a half years (until March 2024) to fully recover its losses,” Black said.&nbsp;“After fueling the 2025 rally, spot Bitcoin ETFs saw significant net outflows reflecting profit-taking, drawdown thresholds, and reduced risk appetite amid volatility.
