Investing.com -- In a note to clients this week, BCA Research assessed whether now is an opportune time to build or top up a position in cybersecurity stocks. 

Research firm Stephens initiated coverage of cybersecurity vendors in a note released late Monday even as their shares stutter amid the broader market downturn.The brokerage initiated shares of&nbsp; Zscaler, Inc. (ZS), CyberArk Software, Inc. (CYBR) and SentinelOne, Inc. (S) with 'Overweight' ratings, The Fly reported. The firm's price targets for the shares are as follows:<ul style="list-style-type:circle;"><li>Zscaler - $255 (33% upside potential)</li><li>CyberArk - $440 (30% upside potential)</li><li>SentinelOne - $25 (38% upside potential)</li></ul>&nbsp;Stephens' positive view on Zscaler is premised on its view that the company is the "pioneer and market leader" in delivering network security as a cloud-based service. The firm's analysts believe that Zscaler is well-positioned to be one of the at-the-scale companies that can grow its top line by about 20%.On CyberkArk, Stephens said the company is one of the leaders in driving the move toward converged identity security platforms. The firm believes identity security will be one of the most attractive secular growth areas in security.According to Stephens, SentinelOne has established a strong position in the next-generation endpoint market. SentinelOne, Inc. (S) shares slid early Thursday after the cybersecurity vendor issued lackluster revenue guidance for the current quarter and the year. However, the quarterly results exceeded forecasts, with key operational metrics showing healthy growth.The Mountain View, California-based company swung to a profit on a non-GAAP basis and reported revenue growth of 29% for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2025. Customers with ARR of $100,000 or more climbed 25% to 1,411 as of Jan. 31, 2025.The non-GAAP gross margin was 79%, in line with the guidance, and non-GAAP operating margin was 1%, ahead of the guidance for a negative 1%.CEO Tomer Weingarten said, “Our strong finish to the fiscal year reflects solid execution and the accelerating adoption of our platform solutions.”He noted that the company is on track to surpass $1 billion in ARR and revenue in the new fiscal year.CFO Barbara Larson said the company is focused on driving sustainable growth and improving margins in the fiscal year 2026 and beyond.The company guided to&nbsp;a revenue of $228 million for the first quarter and $1.007 billion to $1.012 billion for the full year.Analysts, on average, estimate the metrics at $228.97 million and $1.012 billion, respectively.SentinelOne expects a non-GAAP operating margin of 79% for the first quarter and 78.5%-79.5% for the fiscal year 2026. SentinelOne Stock Slips As Lackluster Guidance Takes Sheen Off Solid Q4 Print: Retail Mood Hits Rock Bottom

Shares of SentinelOne, Inc. (S) received a price target ahead of the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered cybersecurity company’s quarterly results due after the market closes Wednesday.In his earnings preview note, JPMorgan analyst Brian Essex reduced the price target for SentinelOne stock to $27 from $33 and maintained an ‘Overweight’ rating. He attributed the price cut to a contraction in peer multiples, TheFly reported.The analyst expects the Mountain View, California-based company to report net new annual recurring revenue (ARR) just over the consensus estimates.&nbsp;ARR at the end of the third quarter was up 29% to $859.7 million.Essex also looked forward to “constructive” guidance for the fiscal year 2026.JPMorgan said its industry conversations were mixed to slightly positive for the quarter. This reinforced management's view that CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (CRWD)&nbsp; outage-related benefit is materializing in the company’s pipeline, it added.On average, analysts expect SentinelOne to report adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.01 and revenue of $222.33 million, compared to a loss of $0.02 per share and revenue of $174.2 million, respectively, for the year-ago quarter.&nbsp;The company’s guidance issued in early December called for revenue of $222 million, an adjusted gross margin of 79%, and an adjusted operating margin of a negative 3%.Among peers, Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (PANW) reported a double beat for the quarter ended Jan. 2025, but the guidance was lackluster. Crowdstrike announced a Q4 beat but experienced a slowdown in revenue growth and key operational metrics.
