Bitcoin Cash is a hard fork of Bitcoin with a protocol upgrade to fix on-chain capacity. Bitcoin Cash intends to be a Bitcoin without Segregated Witness (SegWit) as soft fork, where upgrades of the protocol are done mainly through hard forks and without changing the original economic rules of the Bitcoin.  Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is released on 1st August 2017 as an upgraded version of the original Bitcoin Core software. The main upgrade is the increase in the block size limit from 1MB to 8MB. This effectively allows miners on the BCH chain to process up to 8 times more payments per second in comparison to Bitcoin. This makes for faster, cheaper transactions and a much smoother user experience.  Why was Bitcoin Cash Created?  The main objective of Bitcoin Cash is to to bring back the essential qualities of money inherent in the original Bitcoin software. Over the years, these qualities were filtered out of Bitcoin Core and progress was stifled by various people, organizations, and companies involved in Bitcoin protocol development. The result is that Bitcoin Core is currently unusable as money due to increasingly high fees per transactions and transfer times taking hours to complete. This is all because of the 1MB limitation of Bitcoin Core’s block size, causing it unable to accommodate to large number of transactions.  Essentially Bitcoin Cash is a community-activated upgrade (otherwise known as a hard fork) of Bitcoin that increased the block size to 8MB, solving the scaling issues that plague Bitcoin Core today. The platform achieved an enormous success within a very short time and is focused on worldwide market with Malta headquarters. The cryptocurrency currently has a daily trading volume of 1.5 billion - 2 billion US dollars and is still increasing.  In total, there will only be 200 million BNBs. Binance uses the ERC20 token standard from Ethereum and has distributed it as follow: 50% sold on ICO, 40% to the team and 10% to Angel investors. The coin can be used to pay fees on Binance. These include trading fees, transaction fees, listing fees and others. Binance gives you a huge discount when fees are paid in BNB.   The schedule of BNB fees discount is as follow: In the first year, 50% discount on all fees, second year 25% discount, third year 12.5% discount, fourth year 6.75 % discount, and from the fifth year onwards there is no discount. This structure is used to incentivize users to buy BNB and do trades within Binance.  Binance announced in a buyback plan that it would buy back up to 100 million BNB in Q1 2018. The coins are then burned. This means that they are devaluated to increase the value of the remaining coins. This benefits investors. In the future, the cryptocurrency will remain an asset on the trading platform and will be used as gas.  Other tokens that are issued by exchanges include Bibox Token, OKB, Huobi Token, and more.

The protocol operates on its own blockchain currently using Proof-of-Work consensus, though it's evolving toward Proof-of-Stake through the planned "Crosslink" upgrade to enhance security, scalability, and energy efficiency. Zcash employs trustless zero-knowledge proofs (Halo) within its Orchard shielded pool to verify transactions without revealing sender, receiver, or amount information.   Users can choose between transparent public transactions and shielded private transactions through Unified Addresses, which work with both types. The network is faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, with new blocks mined every 75 seconds and transaction fees typically just a fraction of a cent. Privacy adoption has surged in 2025, with over 30% of total ZEC supply now held in fully shielded pools.  Zcash was created by a group of scientists in 2013 who initially proposed Zerocoin as a privacy extension to Bitcoin before building a standalone protocol. The ecosystem operates with a self-funded development model where block rewards support independent teams through the Zcash Community Grants Committee and a new Coinholder-Controlled Fund.

It is currently trading 2% higher at $426 per ton.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Has Caused The Decline?</h2>The biggest drag on prices has been surging output from key exporters. Brazil, the world’s top sugar producer, continues to post strong production, while production in India rebounded sharply after weather-related setbacks in recent years. This has lifted global supplies well above demand, leaving sugar prices under sustained pressure.India’s outlook has been particularly bearish for prices. The country is allowing sugar exports again to reduce domestic oversupply, and industry groups have raised production forecasts for the 2025/26 season. India’s sugar production jumped 23.4% to 11.83 million tonnes in the first three months of the 2025-26 season, the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories (NFCSF) reported on Wednesday.Brazil’s outlook also remains high, even though some forecasters expect output to ease slightly in later seasons. Gross annual production is expected to increase by 3% in the 2025-2026 season, according to reports.Government agencies and industry data continue to point to near-record production levels. World sugar futures for July delivery on the Intercontinental Exchange have traded in a 16.43 to 19.72 cents per pound range in 2025. While coffee, cocoa, and frozen concentrated orange juice futures have reached record highs over the past months, world sugar remains well below its 1974 record 66.0 cents per pound peak.

Soft Commodities in Q1 2025- Where are they Heading in Q2?

Soft commodities were the best-performing sector of the asset class in 2024, posting an over 58% gain. They also led in 2023, with an over 24% increase. Over the past two years, cocoa, coffee, and frozen concentrated orange juice futures reached record highs, with cotton and sugar rising to multi-year highs. However, the cure for high commodity prices is those high prices, and the softs sector led the asset class on the downside in Q1 2025.

Will Sugar Follow the Other Soft Commodities?

World sugar futures have been stuck in neutral while three of the other soft commodities have soared to record highs. The all-time high is over three times the current price level, so world sugar futures could offer value below 20 cents per pound.

Has World Sugar Futures Established a Bottom?

While cocoa, Arabica coffee, and FCOJ futures have reached new record highs over the past weeks and months, world sugar futures have lagged. Sugar is the most liquid soft commodity, and it could be ready to join the bullish price action in the soft commodities sector over the coming months.
