(IONS) announced on Tuesday that its medicine, Olezarsen, reduced triglycerides and acute pancreatitis events in late-stage trials evaluating the drug in individuals with severe hypertriglyceridemia.Severe hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG) is defined by severely high triglycerides reaching into the thousands. It is characterized by an increased risk of acute pancreatitis and other morbidities. According to Ionis, approximately three million people are living with sHTG in the U.S., including more than one million who are considered high risk.In two <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://ir.ionis.com/news-releases/news-release-details/olezarsen-significantly-reduces-triglycerides-and-acute">studies</a>, Olezarsen demonstrated a highly statistically significant placebo-adjusted mean reduction in fasting triglycerides of up to 72% at six months, as well as a highly statistically significant 85% reduction in acute pancreatitis events, with favorable safety and tolerability profiles. Moderna Gets Clearance To Deliver Updated Spikevax COVID-19 Vaccine In Canada

The company said that it is on track to deliver the updated vaccine in the Canadian market in time for the 2025-2026 vaccination season.

(SRPT) announced on Thursday that it has entered into agreements with investors to restructure about $700 million of debt.The company <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://investorrelations.sarepta.com/news-releases/news-release-details/sarepta-therapeutics-announces-refinancing-approximately-700">said</a> it will exchange approximately $700 million in aggregate principal amount of its existing convertible notes due 2027 for roughly $602 million in new 4.875% convertible senior notes due 2030, up to approximately 6.7 million shares of its common stock, and about $123.3 million in cash.Although the company has managed to push back the maturity of the new debt to 2030, it is also offering cash and common stock to investors. A fear of a potential dilution appears to have disappointed investors. Both non-ambulatory patients suffered from acute liver failure.Sarepta has now resumed shipments for ambulatory individuals after a temporary pause initiated in late July. The company is now working with the FDA on the safety labelling process and risk-mitigation approach for non-ambulatory individuals.
