Instacart acquired Eversight in 2022 whose AI-powered software allows retailers to test customized pricing and promotions directly with their individual customers. According to Instacart, several retailers rely on Eversight to optimize pricing including The Giant Company, Schnucks, and Kroger. Grocers who used Eversight have recorded revenue growth of 1-3%, according to the company.However, this caused shoppers to pay different prices for identical items from the same store.“We understand that the tests we ran with a small number of retail partners that resulted in different prices for the same item at the same store missed the mark for some customers. At a time when families are working exceptionally hard to stretch every grocery dollar, those tests raised concerns, leaving some people questioning the prices they see on Instacart. That’s not okay,” Instacart said. “Now, if two families are shopping for the same items, at the same time, from the same store location on Instacart, they see the same prices — period.”<h2 class="st-heading-2">New Pricing Rules</h2>Instacart said on Monday that while retail partners will continue to set their own prices on Instacart and they may choose to vary the price of items on a store-by-store basis, Instacart will not support any item price testing services.“We’ll continue working closely with partners to remove markups where possible and better align their online prices with their in-store prices,” the company said.The company also said that the pricing tests were not dynamic pricing or surveillance pricing and added that they were never based on supply or demand, personal data, demographics, or individual shopping behavior.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Eversight Draws Flak</h2>Earlier this month, Consumer Reports <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.consumerreports.org/money/questionable-business-practices/instacart-ai-pricing-experiment-inflating-grocery-bills-a1142182490/#:~:text=Many%20U.S.%20shoppers%20who%20order,Sprouts%20Farmers%20Market%2C%20and%20Target.">noted</a> that the AI-enabled pricing experiments on Instacart caused price differences of as much as 23% for identical products from one customer to the next. <ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Disc Medicine management said earlier this month that its application seeking approval for Bitopertin has officially been accepted for review on schedule.&nbsp;</li><li>Wall Street analysts dismissed the media report hinting at approval delays and termed the share drop as overblown.&nbsp;</li><li>Disc Medicine is hopeful for an approval of the drug by the end of January 2026.</li></ul>Shares of Disc Medicine (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/IRON">IRON</a>) plunged 12% on Friday after a report flagged concerns pertaining to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s speedy approval of the company’s blood disorder drug Bitopertin.Disk Medicine’s Biopertin for the treatment of Erythropoietic Protoporphyria (EPP) is one of the 18 drugs to currently have been tapped for fast review by the FDA under its Commissioner's National Priority Voucher program. The Commissioner's National Priority Voucher program, announced in June, aims to reduce FDA assessment times to one to two months from the standard 10 to 12 months.However, Stat News <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.statnews.com/2025/12/19/fda-voucher-program-political-interference/">reported</a> on Friday, citing government officials, that high-level FDA officials have been involved in every part of the new program involving the vouchers. The political pressure is creating “uncomfortable situations” for career scientists at the FDA, the report said.The report dragged down investor sentiment and hopes for an expedited approval of Bitopertin as the report also noted that FDA senior official Vinay Prasad raised doubts about the drug’s effectiveness.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Wall Street Dismisses Concerns</h2>Jefferies analyst Roger Song, however, termed the share drop a “stock overreaction”. Song said that while the priority voucher program's timeline may be under pressure with increasing demand, the firm remains confident on Bitopertin's approval in EPP under the program, based on robust efficacy and safety data and to-date review experience.TD Cowen also maintained its ‘Buy’ rating on the shares and said the firm believes skepticism on the program’s path is overblown. Disc's management remains confident, it noted, and added that the firm's confidence in accelerated approval remains high.BMO Capital said that it had discussions with Disc Medicine’s management which highlighted a lack of interactions with senior official Prasad but robust active dialogue with the FDA. While Prasad may have speculated efficacy concerns related to Bitopertin, these have not been communicated to Disc, and no clear concerning questions around efficacy have been raised, BMO added. Some procedural questions have been asked by FDA in trying to understand the Bitopertin data package and how it may translate to clinical benefit, it said. The firm has an ‘Outperform’ rating on the shares with a price target of $120.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Management Takeaway</h2>Disc Medicine management said earlier this month that its application seeking approval for Bitopertin has officially been accepted for review on schedule and expressed hopes for potential launch by the end of January 2026, consistent with the 1-2 month timeline for drugs which receive the priority voucher.“Our commercialization efforts have been accelerated significantly and we are well on our way to launch readiness,” the company said.The company submitted its application for approval in patients aged 12 years and older with EPP on September 29. (OKLO) announced on Tuesday that the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Idaho office has given an initial safety approval for its Aurora Fuel Fabrication Facility, effectively granting permission to start facility assembly.The DOE’s Idaho Operations Office has granted the nuclear technology company the Preliminary Documented Safety Analysis (PDSA) for Aurora, the first facility approved under the DOE’s Fuel Line Pilot Program, the company said.The PDSA is the second out of three safety documents for the facility’s approval. Oklo said that the next step would be a Documented Safety Analysis (DSA), an update about the final design and construction of the facility.<h2 class="st-heading-2">DOE Nuclear Pilot Programs</h2>Earlier this year, the DOE launched new pilot programs to hasten the development of advanced nuclear reactors and domestic fuel following Executive Orders from President Donald Trump to streamline national laboratory processes for reactor testing.As part of this, the DOE issued a Request for Application (RFA) seeking U.S. reactor companies to construct and operate test reactors outside of the national laboratories with DOE authorization. (SRPT) shares tumbled more than 6% on Thursday after the company announced a debt refinancing plan totaling about $291 million.&nbsp;The drug manufacturer said that, as per the privately negotiated agreements, it would exchange $291.4 million of 1.25% convertible senior notes due 2027 for the same amount of new 4.875% convertible senior notes due 2030 alongside about $31.6 million in cash.The deal is expected to close around Dec. 18, 2025.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Deal Details</h2>After the debt refinancing, the aggregate principal amount of SRPT’s 4.875% convertible senior notes due 2030 will be approximately $893.4 million. This would result in $158.6 million in aggregate principal amount of the existing notes to remain outstanding under the previous terms, the company said.&nbsp;The transaction would also entail the sale by the private parties of approximately 691,000 shares of the company’s common stock,&nbsp;which could affect the market price of the company’s shares and notes, the firm noted. Since the deal is private, none of the new notes and shares issuable upon conversion are registered for public sale.Most recently,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SRPT/">SRPT</a> issued an equity grant of about $12 million to Douglas S. Ingram, its chief executive officer.
