Things may get less secure, but the overall network will keep running.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">The 5 North Stars For Ethereum</h2>The document’s inception was at an Ethereum Foundation workshop in January 2026, according to Drake. He said the name combines “strawmap” and “roadmap,” acknowledging that drafting a proposal to satisfy stakeholders in a decentralized ecosystem is “effectively impossible.”&nbsp;The strawmap is centered around five “north stars” as its technical objectives, according to Drake. The first of which is a "fast L1," which targets short slots and finality in seconds. The second is "gigagas L1," which aims to reach a transaction speed of 1 gigagas per second via zkEVMs and real-time proving.&nbsp;The third target is "teragas L2," looking to hit 1 gigabyte per second of data bandwidth, or 10 million transactions per second. For Bitcoin, this was the first time this year that daily net inflows topped $500 million.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Bitcoin ETF Demand Rebounds After Five-Week Slump</h2>According to data from SoSoValue, Bitcoin spot ETF inflows stood at $560 million so far this week, after over $500 million came in on Tuesday. BlackRock’s&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/IBIT">iShares Bitcoin ETF</a> (IBIT) led the gains, accounting for around $300 million of the total, followed by the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/GBTC">Grayscale Bitcoin Trust</a> (GBTC) at around $100 million.On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around IBIT remained in ‘bullish’ territory over the past day, while retail sentiment around GBTC continued to trend in the ‘bullish’ zone. Both funds were down over 1% each in after-hours trade as Bitcoin pared its gains.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin’s price</a> was trading at around $68,000 on Thursday morning, down after crossing the $69,000 on Wednesday, but still up 4.1% in the last 24 hours. The&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/FETH">Fidelity Ethereum Fund</a> (FETH) led gains with over $60 million of capital coming in, followed by the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/ETHE">Grayscale Ethereum Fund</a> (ETHE) clocking around $34 million in daily net inflows.&nbsp;Retail sentiment on Stocktwits around FETH remained in ‘bearish’ territory with chatter at ‘high’ levels over the past day. Retail sentiment around ETHE, however, improved to ‘bullish’ from ‘neutral’ territory over the past day but saw ‘low’ levels of chatter.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/ethereum">Ethereum’s price</a> climbed as high as $2,100, paring gains and holding ground above $2,000, still up by 7.7% in the last 24 hours and outperforming Bitcoin. Bitcoin ETF Inflows Top $500M For First Time This Year, On Track To Break Record Outflow Streak

Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs are on track for their first week of net inflows after five straight weeks of outflows – the longest on record.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Hedge fund exposure to BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust came into focus after Bitwise portfolio manager Jeff Park corrected claims around IBIT options limits on Saturday.</li><li>Park said IBIT continued to operate under a 250,000-contract position cap, while a separate SEC proposal to raise the limit to 1 million contracts remains unapproved.</li><li>Brevan Howard, IBIT’s largest disclosed institutional holder with a reported $2.3 billion stake, drew attention after Bloomberg reported its fixed-income fund will shut to external capital.</li></ul>Hedge fund exposure to BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) came under fire on Saturday. The focus grew after Bitwise portfolio manager Jeff Park addressed misconceptions related to the ETF options limit.Park&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/dgt10011/status/2020244781742367071?s=20">said</a> on X that reports claiming Nasdaq removed options position limits for IBIT were incorrect. Bloomberg reported in late January that Brevan Howard’s $1.4 billion Fixed Income fund would shut to external capital by the end of June, a development that drew market attention amid elevated ETF trading activity.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Record IBIT Trading Sparked Initial Scrutiny</h2>Previously, BitMex co-founder Arthur Hayes said that banks were hedging positions linked to the IBIT ETF, which is why Bitcoin sold off. He brought up Morgan Stanley's "structured note" associated with IBIT, which is essentially a bank wager on Bitcoin. In order to safeguard themselves, these banks had to sell as soon as Bitcoin’s price tanked.Positions in highly leveraged IBIT ETFs had to unwind on Thursday, when the ETF posted record trading volume and elevated options turnover. Other funds, such as Bitwise's BITB, VanEck's HODL, WisdomTree's BTCW, Franklin's EZBC, and Grayscale's GBTC, reported flat daily flows with no significant inflows or withdrawals noted.Similarly, Ethereum spot ETFs also posted daily net outflows, extending recent weakness.
