CEO William Li noted in a post-earnings call that with the new vehicles, the company sees a market demand that is higher than what it expected before launch. XPeng To Launch Mona Brand Globally Next Year: Report

According to a CNBC report, the company is now open to acquiring other electric carmakers. 

Polestar (PSNY) CEO Michael Lohscheller on Wednesday expressed optimism about the market pricing in cost increases due to the removal of tax credit on the purchase of EVs in the U.S.“Even after the disappearance of the tax credit, the U.S. will stay an important market for us. I also do believe that eventually, the market will price for cost increases, right? I’ve never seen in many, many years in automotive that cost increases have not led to price increases,” Lohscheller said during the company’s second quarter earnings call on Wednesday. “Unfortunately, at the moment, the price environment is pretty competitive.”President Donald Trump signed the Republican tax bill into law on the Fourth of July. Under the new law, tax credits for the purchase of electric vehicles will expire on September 30. Polestar CEO Hopeful About Market Pricing In Cost Increases As Tariffs Bite Q2 Earnings

The Swedish EV maker on Wednesday reported a net loss of $1.027 billion, wider than the $268 million loss reported in the corresponding quarter of 2024, due to higher cost of sales, including a non-cash impairment expense on Polestar 3 of $739 million.

Chinese EV maker Nio (NIO) got multiple price target hikes on Wednesday after it reported a narrower second-quarter (Q2) loss.Mizuho raised its price target on Nio to $6 from $3.50 and kept a ‘Neutral’ rating on the shares following the June quarter report. The firm expects stronger demand for electric vehicles but notes that Nio's delivery targets remain challenging. Mizuho views the stock as fairly valued at its current levels, according to TheFly.Bank of America, meanwhile, raised the firm's price target on Nio to $7.10 from $5 and kept a ‘Neutral’ rating on the shares. Chinese EV maker Nio Inc.’s (NIO) management indicated during the earnings call that the company intends to deliver 150,000 vehicles in the last quarter of 2025, which would mark its highest quarterly numbers to date.“....by looking at both the demand and the supply availabilities and capacity, our Q4 target is to achieve an average of 50,000 units deliveries per month for all three brands, which means that in Q4 our quarterly delivery target combining all three brands is 150,000 units,” Nio CEO William Li said on the company’s second-quarter earnings call on Tuesday.The higher delivery expectations are spurred by the company’s new vehicle models, including the Onvo L90 and the new Nio ES8. Li noted that with the new vehicles, the company sees a market demand that is higher than what it expected before launch.While the L90 was officially launched on July 31, the ES8 was formally unveiled last month and made available for pre-orders, with user deliveries expected to begin in late September.Li also noted that the company is focusing on ramping up production for its existing models and has therefore decided not to launch or deliver any new models this year.
