<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Citi’s CFO in the earnings call this month had said that he expects to see headcount continue to trend downward.</li><li>Citigroup is reportedly expected to lay off more employees in March following a round of 1000 job cuts this month.&nbsp;</li><li>The new round of layoffs is expected to be announced after bonuses are paid, a report from Reuters News said.</li></ul>Citigroup will continue to cut more jobs in 2026, as part of its CEO’s reorganization efforts, a company spokesperson told Stocktwits on Thursday.&nbsp;“We will continue to reduce our headcount in 2026,” a company spokesperson said in an emailed response to Stocktwits’ query.&nbsp;“These changes reflect adjustments we’re making to ensure our staffing levels, locations and expertise align with current business needs; efficiencies we have gained through technology; and progress against our Transformation work, which is nearing target state,” the spokesperson added.&nbsp;Shares in the company were down 1.7% at the time of writing.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Cuts In March</h2>Citigroup is reportedly expected to lay off more employees in March following a round of 1,000 job cuts this month.&nbsp;The new round of layoffs is expected to be announced after bonuses are paid, a report from Reuters News said, citing sources familiar with the matter.&nbsp;The March layoffs are likely to affect managing directors and senior employees across business lines and some senior managers have already been reassigned to different divisions to secure roles before headcount is reduced, the report added.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">CEO’s Reorganization Efforts</h2>Citi’s CEO Jane Fraser has led the corporate reorganization efforts at the U.S. firm since taking up the role, in a bid to trim down management layers and fasten decision making.Citi’s Chief Financial Officer Mark Mason during its fourth quarter earnings call said that Citi's workforce shrank by 20,000 since 2022 and is now at 226,000 employees by the end of 2025.“We'll see that cost and headcount come down as we continue to improve productivity and implement tools like AI, we'd see an impact, or expect to see an impact on headcount. So, notwithstanding, insourcing and driving broader efficiency, I would expect to see headcount continue to trend downward,” he had said.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Recent Earnings</h2>Citi reported higher fourth quarter (Q4) profit buoyed by rebound in dealmaking activities, that beat analyst estimates. US Banking Giant Citigroup To Cut 1,000 Jobs This Week: Report

The job cuts are part of the bank's plan announced two years ago to reduce staff by 20,000 before the end of 2026, Bloomberg News report said. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Piper Sandler downgraded ALEX stock to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Overweight’ and kept the price target unchanged at $21.</li><li>Alexander &amp; Baldwin announced on Monday that it would go private in a deal worth $2.3 billion.&nbsp;</li><li>The company will be acquired by a MW Group joint venture for $21.20 per share by the first quarter of 2026, the company said in a statement.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li></ul>Shares of Alexander &amp; Baldwin (ALEX) rallied over 38% on Tuesday morning after the announcement of the $2.3 billion take-private deal.The company’s outstanding shares will be acquired at $21.20 per share by a joint venture formed among MW Group, Blackstone Real Estate, and DivcoWest, expected to close by the first quarter of 2026. The all-cash deal represents a 40% premium to the company’s closing price as of Dec. 8, 2025.&nbsp;In addition, Alexander &amp; Baldwin announced a fourth-quarter (Q4) 2025 dividend of $0.35 per share, payable on January 8, 2026.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Street Action</h2>Meanwhile, Piper Sandler downgraded ALEX to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Overweight’ before, while keeping the price target intact at $21, as cited on TheFly. Piper said that it has revised its rating following the announcement and does not expect a competing bid to emerge.“Today, we are taking an important step toward our long-term vision for A&amp;B as stewards of Hawai'i's premier commercial real estate. As a private company supported by the deep real estate expertise and experience of our new ownership group, A&amp;B will have greater capacity to serve its tenants and communities,” President and CEO Lance Parker said.&nbsp;Alexander &amp; Baldwin is the only publicly traded real estate investment trust focused solely on Hawaiian commercial real estate. Teva Pharmaceuticals, the U.S. affiliate of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (TEVA), announced on Thursday that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic version of the Liraglutide injection known as Saxenda.Liraglutide Injection is a glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist indicated to reduce excess body weight and maintain weight reduction long-term in adults as well as pediatric patients aged 12 years and older with body weight greater than 60 kg and obesity. The drug is to be used in combination with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.“With this approval, and by launching a generic for Saxenda (liraglutide injection), we will provide patients in the U.S. the first ever generic GLP-1 product specifically indicated for weight loss,” <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.tevapharm.com/news-and-media/latest-news/teva-announces-fda-approval-and-launch-of-generic-saxenda-liraglutide-injection--first-generic-glp-1-/">said</a> Ernie Richardsen, Head of U.S. Commercial Generics at Teva.
