Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. The move comes after investigators found that solar radiation could compromise key flight systems.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Demand Healthy, But Disruptions To Affect Growth</h2>JetBlue said that demand during the fourth quarter has remained healthy, and bookings have been trending in line with expectations except for the limited timeframe of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) emergency order to temporarily reduce flight operations due to the government shutdown.During the shutdown, the longest in U.S. history, an air traffic controller shortage forced the FAA to issue an emergency order limiting capacity, with flight reductions starting at 4% and later rising to 6%. The firm said Hurricane Melissa also impacted its operational performance in Jamaica.JetBlue said the twin events resulted in a reduction of approximately one point in available seat miles (ASM) growth due to operational cancellations and schedule reductions in the fourth quarter. The U.S. regulator also issued a ground stop for John F. Kennedy International Airport, which lasted between 6.45 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. local time.FAA’s National Airspace System Status showed that departures from Harry Reid International, which serves Las Vegas, will be delayed by 60 minutes on average, while there was a ground stop order at the Chicago O’Hare International Airport.The FAA already issued a ground stop order at O'Hare on Wednesday morning due to snowfall in the area. According to FlightAware data, 61% of flights scheduled for the day were delayed at one of the country's busiest airports.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Record Number Of Travelers</h2>The FAA earlier projected the current Thanksgiving holiday travel period to be the busiest in 15 years, and added that it was prepared to “get more than 360,000 flights” to their destinations. Airlines for America, a lobbying group for U.S. airlines, projected that airlines will fly 2.8 million passengers per day between Nov. 21 and Dec. 1.However, inclement weather could spoil travelers’ plans this weekend. “Heavy snow is projected from southeastern South Dakota through Iowa, southern Minnesota, northwestern Illinois, and southern and central Wisconsin into the central and northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan,” AccuWeather stated.Retail sentiment on Stocktwits about <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/DAL">Delta Air Lines</a> was in the ‘bearish’ territory, while traders were ‘neutral’ about United Airlines and Southwest Airlines, and ‘bullish’ on American Airlines.Most of these carriers have seen thousands of cancellations at the beginning of the month due to staff shortages at airports stemming from the federal government shutdown. It had also cautioned that an end to the joint venture could result in the loss of $800 million in annual consumer benefits and the cancellation of two dozen routes. FAA's 10% flight cut jolts U.S. airlines industry, sending stocks lower-but could the dip in airline ETFs like JETS offer a buying window?  

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Top U.S. airlines have announced the cancellation of hundreds of flights scheduled for Friday.</li><li>More than 760 planned Friday flights were cut from airline schedules, according to FlightAware, a real-time flights-tracking service.</li><li>The aviation regulator on Thursday published a list of 40 airports where it has asked flight traffic to be reduced.&nbsp;</li></ul>Airline operators began canceling flights at major airports across the U.S. on Thursday and removed hundreds of scheduled trips from their schedules for Friday, following orders from authorities.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Cancelations</h2>United Airlines Holdings, Inc. said on Thursday it would cancel 4% of its flights scheduled for Friday through Sunday. That would be 200 cancellations on Friday alone, according to the airline’s statement to the Financial Times.&nbsp;American Airlines Group, Inc. announced it would cancel approximately 220 flights per day from Friday to Monday, also representing a 4% reduction. Delta Air Lines, Inc. said it would cancel about 170 flights on Friday. Alaska Air, the US’s fifth-biggest carrier, said it had begun cancelling a “limited number of flights” on Friday.More than 760 planned Friday flights were cut from airline schedules, according to FlightAware, a real-time flights-tracking service.UAL and DAL stocks dropped 1% and 1.3%, respectively, on Thursday, while AAL shares declined 2%.Earlier this week, the Federal Aviation Administration&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/delta-american-ual-southwest-stocks-slip-after-hours-faa-orders-10-cut-in-us-flights-on-government-shutdown-chaos/cL2tX4wREbX">ordered</a> a 10% reduction in traffic at the busiest airports to maintain travel safety, as air traffic controllers show signs of strain amid the shutdown.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Aviation Order Details</h2>On Thursday, the agency published&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/us-transportation-secretary-sean-p-duffy-faa-administrator-bryan-bedford-outline-series">a list of 40 airports</a> where traffic would be curtailed, including some of the busiest, such as those in New York and San Francisco. The order goes into effect on Friday.&nbsp;“We are seeing signs of stress in the system, so we are proactively reducing the number of flights to make sure the American people continue to fly safely,” FAA Federal Aviation Administrator Bryan Bedford said in a statement.&nbsp;“The FAA will continue to closely monitor operations, and we will not hesitate to take further action to make sure air travel remains safe.”  &nbsp;As part of the order, the FAA said airlines must provide full refunds, excluding secondary costs. Delta Air, United, American Airlines Cancel About 700 Friday Flights After FAA Order To Reduce Air Traffic ‘Stress’  

The aviation regulator on Thursday published a list of 40 airports where it has asked flight traffic to be reduced. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>The Federal Aviation Administration has ordered a 10% reduction in air traffic, pending details&nbsp;on affected locations and airlines.</li><li>The move&nbsp;aims to alleviate pressure and ensure safety amid staffing challenges resulting from the government shutdown, officials said.</li><li>Shares of major airlines declined in the after-market session on Wednesday.</li></ul>Shares of major airlines slipped in after-market trading on Wednesday after the U.S. aviation regulator ordered a 10% reduction in air traffic at 40 major airports to reduce pressure and ensure safety, as federal staff work without pay during a government shutdown.Delta Air Lines, Inc., American Airlines Group, Inc., United Airlines Holdings, Inc. and Southwest Airlines Co fell between 0.3% and nearly 0.6% in extended trading hours.&nbsp;&nbsp;Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy told reporters on Wednesday that the reduction, effective Friday, would help keep air travel safe as flight delays and cancellations continue to pile up.&nbsp;"We just can't ignore it," Federal Aviation Administration Administrator Bryan Bedford said. Authorities issued a ground stop at New York City-area airports late last month due to staffing shortages.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Shutdown Raises Concerns For Holiday Travel</h2>The aviation industry is among the many affected by the government shutdown, which is due to a delay in passing a federal funding bill. Earlier this week, 500 companies and groups operating in the travel industry, including transportation and hotels, signed a letter urging Congress to pass the spending bill and warning of potential chaos ahead of the holiday travel season if the shutdown continues.Executives from several airlines reportedly met with Vice President JD Vance last week with the same message. The carriers believe that the extension would allow the court sufficient time to conduct a thorough review and issue an order.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What’s At Stake?</h2>In an earlier filing, Delta, which holds a 20% stake in Aeromexico, had warned that the partnership sustains nearly 4,000 U.S. jobs and adds more than $310 million to the U.S. economy. It had also cautioned that an end to the joint venture could result in the loss of $800 million in annual consumer benefits and the cancellation of two dozen routes.
