What Is Pi Network? Pi Network is a social cryptocurrency, developer platform, and ecosystem designed for widespread accessibility and real-world utility. It enables users to mine and transact Pi using a mobile-friendly interface while supporting applications built within its blockchain ecosystem.  Supply Model and Mining Mechanism The Maximum Supply of Pi is 100 billion tokens. The Maximum Supply is comprised of the following: 65 Billion tokens (or 65%) are allocated for all community mining rewards; 10 billion (10%) are allocated for foundation reserves; 5 billion (5%) are allocated for liquidity purposes; and 20 billion (20%) are allocated for the Core Team. Each allocation mentioned above tracks the community Migrated Mining Rewards issuance pace, so the proportions of each allocation in the total supply remains the same at any given time.   The Effective Total Supply of Pi—the total Pi supply at the current time—allocates Pi proportionally the same as the Maximum Supply. Since every allocation tracks the Migrated Mining Rewards of the community, the Effective Total Supply can be calculated by dividing the current Migrated Mining Rewards of Pi on the Mainnet blockchain by 65%. The other allocations within the Effective Total Supply can then be calculated based on the same proportions as the Maximum Supply, e.g. at most 10% of the Effective Total Supply is available in the foundation reserve, 5% of the Effective Total Supply is available for liquidity purposes, and 20% of the Effective Total Supply is available for the Core Team. This remains true despite the fact that all tokens were minted at the genesis as technically required by the blockchain protocol.  Circulating Supply includes all Migrated Mining Rewards and all tokens that entered circulation from other buckets of the allocations, which at its maximum could be summed up to equal the Effective Total Supply.   Pi’s mining rewards are distributed based on an issuance formula that follows a declining exponential model defined in the Pi whitepaper. Users can increase the amount of mining rewards they receive based on their individual contributions to the network, like Security Circles, using utility-based Pi apps, running Nodes, etc. For each month, the amount of Pi to be distributed as mobile balance is capped and determined by the model, regardless of how many people or how many types of mining rewards there are during the month. The capping is achieved by the design of a system-wide base mining rate, and each type of mining rewards to each individual are just a multiplier of this base mining rate. As the monthly supplies always diminish, the base mining rate generally decreases over time.   Fewer Pi may also be issued because the real Pi issuance on the blockchain depends on Pioneers passing KYC and completing all steps required for migration to the Mainnet. Despite all efforts to facilitate and remind Pioneers to complete those required steps, there are always dropoffs along the way, resulting in less than all outstanding mobile balances to be issued on the blockchain. Because of this mechanism, the community issued amount (Migrated Mining Rewards) on the blockchain will likely be closer and closer to a line lower than the 65 billion. This is thus the reason for the variable Effective Total Supply which incorporates this effect. Effective Total Supply results from all Migrated Mining Rewards divided by 65%, as opposed to the Maximum Supply of 100 billion.  Ecosystem and Adoption Pi Network has built an integrated ecosystem that facilitates real-world transactions and decentralized applications. Pi can be used as a medium of exchange for goods and services, including online commerce and local brick-and-mortar businesses.  Users can engage with Core Team and community-built apps in the Pi ecosystem through the Pi Browser, where integrated features like the Pi Wallet provide a seamless experience. Goldman began coverage of Stellantis with a ‘Neutral’ rating and a $10 price target, implying a 1.3% upside from the last close. The firm said Stellantis shares its valuation appeal, identifying the most undervalued areas of the European auto industry.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Goldman Flags Market Pressure&nbsp;</h2>Goldman said European automakers face growing pressure as Chinese manufacturers expand globally and battery electric vehicle momentum accelerates. The firm added that European Union tariffs, currency swings, and tightening emissions rules are adding further strain. Goldman noted that BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Renault now trade at negative industrial stub valuations, which it called “premature,” and said the premium segment remains the most undervalued part of the market.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Automakers Goldman Sees As Attractive Value Opportunities</h2>Goldman highlighted several automakers that it believes offer meaningful upside. The company initiated BMW with a ‘Buy’ rating and a 112 euro price target, implying a 32% upside. Mercedes-Benz was also initiated with a ‘Buy’ rating and a 74 euro price target, representing a 30% upside. Goldman said it likes both BMW and Mercedes-Benz for their “healthy” balance sheets and “shareholder-friendly” capital allocation frameworks.The bank initiated Ferrari with a ‘Buy’ rating and a $454 price target, giving the stock a 35% upside. Goldman said Ferrari’s higher-priced Special Series volumes support stronger selling prices and growth.Goldman also said Renault offers the same “attractive value” seen across premium automakers. The firm began coverage with a ‘Neutral’ rating and a 36-euro price target, implying a 5% upside.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Automakers Goldman Views More Cautiously</h2>Goldman initiated coverage of Volkswagen with a ‘Neutral’ rating and a 106-euro price target, giving it a 12% upside. Porsche AG was also initiated at a ‘Neutral’ rating with a 46 euro price target, representing a 29% upside.Aston Martin Lagonda received a ‘Neutral’ rating and a 61-pound price target, which reflects a 1% downside. The bank’s research arm highlighted structural concerns over Aston Martin’s balance sheet.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Stocktwits Traders Back Stellantis, BMW, Renault&nbsp;</h2>On Stocktwits, automakers including Stellantis, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Renault all saw ‘bullish’ sentiment, though message volume was ‘high’ for Stellantis, ‘normal’ for BMW and Renault, and ‘low’ for Mercedes-Benz.Porsche AG and Aston Martin Lagonda each recorded ‘neutral’ sentiment, with Porsche seeing ‘low’ message volume while Aston Martin registered ‘normal’ activity. Among the outliers, Ferrari drew ‘bearish’ sentiment on ‘low’ message volume, while Volkswagen saw ‘extremely bearish’ sentiment, also amid ‘low’ message volume.So far this year, performance across U.S.-listed European automakers has been mixed.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/STLA">Stellantis</a> is down 19%, Renault is down 15%, Ferrari is down 8%, and Aston Martin Lagonda is down 38%. Chinese EV major BYD widened its European lead over Tesla last month, selling more than three times as many cars as the previous year to outpace the U.S. rival for the second consecutive month.&nbsp;BYD’s registrations jumped 201% in August, for a 1.3% market share across the EU, against Tesla’s 1.2% after its sales slumped 36.6%, Reuters&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/byd-outsells-tesla-eu-second-month-stellantis-returns-sales-growth-2025-09-25/">reported</a>, citing data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).It was a mixed month for Europe’s traditional automakers. Stellantis returned to growth for the first time since early 2024, with sales up 2.2% in August. Volkswagen registrations rose 4.8% and Renault gained 7.8%. Overall, car sales across the EU increased 5.3%.Buyers kept moving towards electrified vehicles, with battery-electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid cars accounting for more than 62% of registrations, compared with just under 53% a year earlier.Tesla’s challenges ran deeper than the EU average. Data from Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) showed its&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/tesla-sales-fall-germany-european-markets-continue-to-decline/chwTUgeRd8Z">sales in the country dropped 39% in August</a> to 1,441 units, even as overall EV sales there jumped 46%.&nbsp;According to National Auto Association data, Tesla also lost ground in France, where sales fell 47% to 1,331 units, and in Belgium, which saw a 61% decline to 585. In Denmark, registrations dropped 42% to 473. So far this year, Tesla sales have declined by 39% in France, 56% in Belgium, and 54% in Denmark.One bright spot was Norway, where Tesla sold 3,014 cars in August, up 21% from last year. BYD Widens Lead Over Tesla In Europe As Sales Triple; Stellantis Returns To Growth After Year-Long Slump

Overall car registrations in the EU rose 5.3% as buyers continued shifting toward electrified vehicles, which made up more than 62% of the market.

Global automakers are reportedly relying more on Chinese technology to fast-track electric vehicles, with Ford, Toyota, Renault and Volkswagen joining Audi in adopting Chinese EV platforms, software and powertrains to cut costs and shorten timelines.Audi’s turning point came in 2021, when its executives were stunned by the Zeekr 001, a long-range EV with European styling. “The Zeekr 001 back then shocked quite everyone,” said Stefan Poetzl, president of SAIC Audi Sales and Marketing, according to a Reuters&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/china-inside-how-chinese-ev-tech-is-reshaping-global-auto-design-2025-09-11/">report</a>.&nbsp;In response, Audi partnered with SAIC to develop the Audi E5 Sportback, built in just 18 months with Chinese batteries, electric drive systems, infotainment and advanced driver assistance. The $33,000 model will be delivered to Chinese buyers this month.Other global players are pursuing similar strategies. Toyota is co-developing China-dedicated models with Guangzhou-based GAC, while Volkswagen has expanded plans with Xpeng that cover both EV and fuel models.&nbsp;Renault built the Dacia Spring on a Dongfeng platform and is apparently developing a new electric Twingo in Shanghai with support from Launch Design. Ford is actively seeking a Chinese partner, with CEO Jim Farley praising local models such as Xiaomi’s SU7 sedan.Stellantis has already taken the step of licensing technology: CEO Zhu Jiangming said its partner Leapmotor will sell EVs overseas and is in talks with other brands to license its platform.&nbsp;Abu Dhabi-based CYVN Holdings, an investor in Nio, has also reportedly built a premium EV using Nio’s chassis and software, with plans to sell under the McLaren brand.Analysts say the model resembles the “Intel Inside” campaign of the 1990s, where Chinese EV makers package chassis, batteries and software into ready-made kits for foreign manufacturers.&nbsp;The approach saves billions in R&amp;D and years of development, while providing Chinese companies with valuable licensing revenue amid a bruising domestic price war and mounting trade tensions abroad.“It is a very smart, win-win solution,” said Will Wang, general manager of Shanghai-based consultancy Autodatas. Marco Santino of Oliver Wyman added that the “firepower” of China’s fierce EV competition allows legacy carmakers to bring higher-quality products to market more quickly.But some warn of long-term risks. Renault Group on Monday cut its financial guidance for the full year&nbsp;(FY) 2025 after posting preliminary first-half results,&nbsp;which were dented by softening retail market, operational headwinds, and working capital challenges.&nbsp;The company also named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Duncan Minto as interim CEO, effective immediately.The automaker now expects an operating margin of around 6.5% for FY25, down from its previous guidance of 7% or more.&nbsp;Free cash flow is projected between €1 billion and €1.5 billion&nbsp;($1.16 billion-$1.74 billion), lower than the earlier forecast of at least €2 billion.Renault’s revenue grew 2.5% in the first half of 2025 to €27.6 billion, but profits were squeezed.&nbsp;The operating margin slipped to 6%, and free cash flow dropped to just €47 million, dragged down by a €900 million hit from working capital issues.&nbsp;Renault said sales of its light commercial vehicles came in below expectations, while billing delays at the end of June and higher-than-planned inventory levels added to the pressure.With retail demand continuing to slide in Europe and rivals becoming more aggressive, the company plans to tighten its belt. It’s looking to cut costs in areas like administration, manufacturing, and R&amp;D to help protect its bottom line.Alongside the financial update, Renault appointed CFO Duncan Minto as interim Chief Executive Officer.&nbsp;Minto, who joined Renault in 1997 and&nbsp;assumed the role&nbsp;of Group CFO in March 2025, will continue to serve in this capacity until a permanent CEO is appointed.
