However, the company also flagged headwinds from global trade policy changes, higher wage rates and increased purchased transportation rates.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Freight Segment Spinoff</h2>The company said on Thursday that the spin-off of its Freight unit into a new publicly traded company is continuing. The spin off is expected to be executed on June 1, 2026 and once separate, FedEx Freight will operate as a separate public company listed on the New York Stock exchange. &nbsp;In the second quarter, Freight segment results decreased due to lower shipments, higher wage rates, and the hiring of additional sales professionals in preparation for the company's spin-off. The segment also incurred spin-off related costs of $152 million in the quarter.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Share Repurchase</h2>The company said that it completed $276 million in share repurchases via the open market in the quarter. The company repurchased about 1.2 million shares, benefitting second quarter results by $0.05 per diluted share.The company now intends to continue evaluating repurchasing additional shares during the remainder of fiscal 2026.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Outlook</h2>The company now expects fiscal 2026 revenue growth rate of 5-6%, up from its previous forecast of 4-6%. This was primarily due to a 5% drop in the company’s server revenue to $4.5 billion, and a 12% drop in hybrid cloud revenue to $1.4 billion which was partially offset by a 150% jump in networking revenue to $2.8 billion.Adjusted earnings per share, however, came in at $0.62, above the company’s outlook range of $0.56 - $0.60, and beat Wall Street expectations of $0.58.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Outlook</h2>For the first quarter of fiscal 2026, the company expects revenue to be in the range of $9 billion to $9.4 billion, below an analyst estimate of $9.9 billion. Hewlett Packard Enterprise Stock Tumbles After-Hours On Mixed Q4 Earnings, Weak Quarterly Revenue Forecast

Kroger is among the many retailers that are betting big on online sales. “We have now completed our strategic review, which we expect will make our eCommerce business profitable in 2026,” said Sargent.However, the supermarket brand has been under pressure from lowered consumer spending as well as the government shutdown that led to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) food-stamp benefits briefly expiring in November. On Wednesday, Macy’s CEO highlighted how customers remained cautious about spending.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Outlook And Sentiment</h2>While Kroger's latest quarter identical sales excluding fuel rose 2.6%, the company revised its guidance for the same to between 2.8% and 3%, from the previous range of 2.7% and 3.4%.
