L’Oréal India is bringing its bestselling Dermatological skincare brand La Roche-Posay (LRP) to India as it looks to significantly expand its dermo cosmetics portfolio under the L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty division (LDB) in the country.

The portfolio that will launch in India will first include four products: Mela B3 Serum, Anthelios, a UVA/UVB protection formulation, Cicaplast and Effaclar. The brand's products start at 450 for its Effaclar Duo+M Gel's 7.5ml pack and go up to 3,300 for its Mela B3 Serum.

La Roche-Posay Laboratoire Dermatologique was founded in 1975 in the small French spa town of La Roche-Posay by pharmacist René Levayer and acquired by L’Oréal in 1989. It has since grown to become a brand widely recommended by dermatologists across the globe.

According to the company, La Roche-Posay has been working in close partnership with dermatologists to develop skincare solutions that soothe, restore, and strengthen even the most sensitive skin. Each product is formulated with La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water, naturally rich in selenium, known for its antioxidant and calming properties.

The brand clocked €2.9bn net sales in 2024, led by products like Cicaplast Baume B5+ Repairing Balm and Mela B3, with a target to hit €3 billion this year. It has also been the "number one growth contributor to L'Oreal's Dermatological Beauty Division.

"The launch of La Roche-Posay in India marks an important milestone in our journey to advance dermatological beauty. For over 50 years, La Roche-Posay has pioneered next-generation solutions — leading with breakthrough formulations, technology, and services that set new standards in skincare. Every day, we drive dermatology forward by bringing together radical efficacy and profound human understanding, in close collaboration with the medical community. With La Roche-Posay’s legacy of life-changing dermatology, we are proud to bring the most advanced dermatological knowledge and innovation to India, empowering dermatologists and consumers to achieve healthier skin and better lives," said Rami Itani, Director - L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty, L'Oréal India.

L’Oréal’s Dermatological Beauty Division entered the Indian market in 2023 with CeraVe. La Roche-Posay products are exclusively available in India through dermatologist clinics, Nykaa, and Apollo 24X7.
