According to Koyfin, 33 of 44 analysts still rate DASH stock ‘Buy’ or higher (the remaining 11 rate it ‘Hold’), with an average upside of about 40% from the stock’s last close.<h2 class="st-heading-2">November Effect?</h2>November trades are essentially about investors reorganizing their portfolios as the year draws to a close, including bets on the next year and, in some cases, booking profits. Before the month began, DASH was up by over 52% year-to-date. Last month was the worst for shares since April 2022.Should retail investors buy the weakness? For one, DASH rebounded nearly 4% in premarket on Monday, the first trading day of the month. At the start of last month, the company reported third-quarter profit that missed Wall Street estimates and said that it would invest several hundred million dollars more in 2026 on new initiatives.The company is investing in growth partnerships, including with robotics firm Serve Robotics and companies such as Domino's Pizza, Kroger, and TKO Group. DoorDash also recently completed its $3.9-billion mega-merger with Deliveroo, giving it a launchpad for aggressive expansion in the UK and wider Europe. The move could require upfront cash for longer-term gains — a dynamic that analysts are watching closely.DoorDash CEO Tony Xu said on the company’s analyst call that Deliveroo might still require investment. Although the company is in a better shape than he imagines, Xu said the near-term focus is on improving product quality — boosting retention, engagement, and frequency — while steadily strengthening unit economics.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Brokerages Upbeat For Long-Term</h2>Last month, Jefferies raised its rating on DoorDash’s shares to ‘Buy’ from ‘Neutral,’ with a $40 price target bump to $260, citing favourable long-term expectations.DoorDash’s 2026 outlook lowered expectations, which provides "flexibility" for both its long-term investments and upside to consensus estimates, Jefferies analysts wrote in an investor note. They also flagged healthy growth in U.S. deliveries and the recent sell-off as reasons for their rating action.For now, DASH could be emerging as a value bet on investors’ radar, with moves in the next few days defining the stock's performance this month. The stock began to take off vertically in early September, and since then, there has been no looking back. It is now the best-performing Magnificent Seven stock, having added 70% this year.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Does The Poll Reveal?</h2>We asked Stocktwits users, "Which cloud infrastructure stock offers the best long-term opportunity right now?"&nbsp; And an overwhelming majority (44%) picked GOOGL as the winner.Retail users have assessed the stock's potential based on their artificial intelligence (AI) prowess rather than their cloud infrastructure. This is evident in the poll results, which have relegated Amazon, the leader in cloud, and Oracle, which has made meaningful progress as a cloud infrastructure company, behind Alphabet. Only 29% viewed Amazon (AMZN) as the likely winner. Oracle (ORCL) and Microsoft (MSFT) were chosen by 14% and 13% of the users, respectively.A user who backed Amazon said that, with the company's lead in robotics, drones, and AWS, it's an "easy bet that the company will outperform the others." Amazon investors, however, do not appear to be optimistic, as evidenced by the stock's mere 6% YTD gain.&nbsp;Some users also flagged Palantir as a name they are most bullish about.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Smaller Players Find Favor</h2>Although the poll listed only the four prominent cloud vendors, comments on the poll's timeline showed some smaller names also struck a chord with the retail crowd. Quite a few users mentioned the name Nebius Group N.V. (NBIS), an AI infrastructure company, whose shares have surged by over 240% this year. Others that received a mention included micro-cap Hyperscale Data, Inc. (GPUS).AWS vs. Azure vs. GCP vs. Oracle CloudAmazon's AWS remained the top cloud vendor in the third quarter, but its market share has been eroding,<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.srgresearch.com/articles/cloud-market-share-trends-big-three-together-hold-63-while-oracle-and-the-neoclouds-inch-higher">&nbsp;according</a> to data from Synergy Research Group. At least one Stocktwits user was&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/AfghanBattleRat/message/637757655">upbeat</a>.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Happened Last Week?</h2>“Big Short” fame investor Michael Burry&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/michael-burry-posts-unseen-2019-email-fron-keith-gill/cL5a3ejREL1">posted</a> a previously unseen 2019 letter from Gill backing Burry’s then-recent comments regarding GameStop. Burry, a GameStop shareholder, had written to the company’s board, urging it to aggressively do buybacks and reduce senior management pay, among other suggestions.In 2021, Gill rallied behind GameStop, sending its stock up multifold.“Burry kept that email private for six years. He posted it today. With the stock back in the low 20s. The latter is a response to more game sales happening online on platforms such as Amazon.Fans are also upbeat about GameStop’s recently launched platform for trading and storing gaming cards, also known as Power Packs.However, on a&nbsp;broader level, it’s a bleak picture. GameStop’s revenue has shrunk in the last three financial years, although there has been some rebound in the past two quarters.Its Bitcoin play has also failed to deliver the expected upside for GME stock (see chart). GameStop’s Meme Magic Fades In A Year Without ‘Roaring Kitty’ — But Retail Traders Feel There’s A Plot Twist Around The Corner

As a disappointing year comes to a close, some retail investors expect fireworks after GME’s quarterly report next week.

(MU) stock is on track to end the year as the best-performing chipmaker this year, beating out artificial intelligence (AI) poster child Nvidia (NVDA) and its peer AMD (AMD). Even Intel (INTC), which received a fresh lease of life following private and government investments and a sharpened focus on execution and cost discipline, could not match up to Micron's scintillating show.Year-to-date, <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/MU">Micron stock</a> has gained over 180%,&nbsp;outpacing Nvidia's 27% spike and AMD's 80% surge. But retail traders are downbeat on the stock, apparently reflecting their concerns about the market's trajectory.&nbsp;Stocktwits data shows that confidence in MU among retail traders has dipped to 'bearish' levels from 'neutral' a year ago and 'bullish' from three months ago. MU has also added about 10% more watchers on the platform, compared with Nvidia's 14% increase, a sign of slightly softer interest than the company attracting the most AI hype. But are they missing out on&nbsp;a multibagger potential?&nbsp;For the unversed, Micron is a memory and storage solutions company that manufactures DRAM, NAND, and NOR memory chips. Last month, Micron received a bumper price target hike from Morgan Stanley. In a note released on Nov. 13, the firm's semiconductor analyst, Joseph Moore, raised his price target for the stock by nearly 50% to $325 — a Street-high number. The stock promptly ran up to a record high of $260.58 following the bullish call, only to be dragged by the market-wide tech sell-off.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Makes MU tick?&nbsp;</h2><img src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/MU_vs_peers_png_ea6414fb63.webp" alt="MU vs peers.png">&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Why Morgan Stanley, Baird Are Upbeat</h2>"We are entering uncharted territory, as we have a 2018 style shortage forming but from a much higher EPS starting point," Moore said in the November note. He sees "serial" estimate reratings in the cards.The analyst premised his optimism on Double Data Rate 5 (DDR5) spot pricing tripling in a little over a month. DDR is a type of high-speed computer memory. Micron began the 2018 memory cycle with breakeven earnings, and its earnings are currently at record levels, he said. Annual revenue has surpassed the 2018 levels, currently at $37.38 billion.<img src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/MU_Annual_Revenue_Since_2016_png_18d7f77557.webp" alt="MU_Annual_Revenue_Since_2016.png">Moore&nbsp;believes the stock has yet to price in the&nbsp;whole upside. "At a time when AI sentiment is pricing in positive moves - but still with some anxiety - we see room for further enthusiasm in the story in addition to the jump in earnings power."Baird analyst Tristan Gerra has an 'Outperform' rating on Micron. "The combination of ongoing supply limitations and accelerating, data centre-driven demand has resulted in an ongoing surge in pricing driving gross margin expansion," he said in a September note.Citing supply checks, the analyst said he expects the current memory upcycle&nbsp;to extend into 2026. He believes that the company will benefit from strong execution, notably with the ongoing ramp of high-margin, artificial intelligence (AI)-related memory architectures: High Bandwidth Memory (HBM)&nbsp; and LPDDR5. The analyst has a $225 price target for the stock.Underscoring the demand optimism, the company is reportedly mulling a $9.6 billion investment in western Japan to make AI memory chips, <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://asia.nikkei.com/business/tech/semiconductors/micron-to-invest-9.6bn-in-western-japan-to-make-ai-memory-chips">according</a> to a Nikkei report.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Potential Headwinds</h2>Macro and geopolitical factors could pose risks to further gains by impacting the broader market. The Bank of Japan (BoJ), which maintained its interest rates at near-zero to negative levels for more than two decades, may have chosen an inopportune time to restart its rate-hike chatter.When the Japanese central bank began raising interest rates from negative to 0-0.25% in March 2024, marking the first increase in 17 years, and then raised them further to around 0.25% in July 2024, the domestic and global markets took a tumble.The global markets could be witnessing a deja vu. Fears concerning the unwinding of carry trades were blamed for the sell-off.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Are Carry Trades?</h2>For decades, Japan's zero-rate policy made the yen one of the cheapest funding currencies on earth.&nbsp;Some of investors' favorite plays were to borrow in yen at near-zero rates, invest in higher-yielding assets (like U.S. stocks or Treasuries), and pocket the spread. This “carry trade” actually carries a lot of weight.Japan,&nbsp;in fact, pursued an ultra-easy monetary policy since the start of the century, inspiring a flourishing carry trade. When the underlying currency strengthens, there is less incentive to put it to work, leading to unwinding of positions. This, in turn, results in a large-scale sell-off.As author and businessman Robert Kiyosaki&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/theRealKiyosaki/status/1994910053539917997">put</a> it bluntly on X: "The Japanese 'carry trade' blew the assets of the world into the biggest bubble in the world." Put simply, a surge in JGB yields threatens that entire structure. If borrowing costs in Japan rise, the math behind the carry trade no longer makes much sense, and capital can rush out of America.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;BoJ Interest Rates Trajectory<img src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/Japan_interest_rate_png_86727c1213.webp" alt="Japan interest rate.png">&nbsp;Source: TradingViewJapan held a net $3.62 trillion in overseas stocks and bonds at the end of June, Reuters&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/markets/currencies/japanese-yens-safe-haven-illusion-shatters-2025-11-19/">reported,</a> citing IMF data. An August 2024 report from JPMorgan&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://am.jpmorgan.com/content/dam/jpm-am-aem/global/en/insights/eye-on-the-market/there-is-no-place-like-home-amv.pdf">stated</a> that a negative policy rate in Japan enticed Japanese households, pension plans, state-owned banks, and the BoJ to create a $20 trillion carry trade. Japan used its low-cost borrowing rate to invest in overseas assets and longer-term domestic assets.<h2 class="st-heading-2">JGB Yields Spiral Higher</h2>On Monday, the yield of Japanese government bonds, called JGBs, spiked across the curve, with Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda’s comments on the monetary policy trajectory triggering the rise. While speaking to business leaders in the city of Nagoya, Ueda said the mechanism by which both wages and prices rise moderately has been restored and that the central bank is actively collecting information on companies' wage-raising intentions,&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://asia.nikkei.com/business/markets/bonds/2-year-japan-government-bond-yields-rise-above-1-on-boj-hike-speculation">according</a> to Nikkei.&nbsp;The BoJ will “consider the pros and cons of raising the policy interest rate and make decisions as appropriate,” Ueda said.A Reuters report stated that the odds of a rate hike at the Dec. 18-19 BoJ Monetary Policy Committee meeting have risen to 80%, up from 60% last week.The 10-year JGB yield was last seen trading up 3.77% to 1.87%, marking the highest level in more than 17 years. The major index futures were also lower early Monday.For the year, the SPY, QQQ, and the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/EWJ">iShares MSCI Japan ETF (EWJ)</a> have gained 17.6%, 21.6%, and 24.7%, respectively.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Fed To Go The Other Way?</h2>The Federal Reserve is widely expected to cut the Fed funds rate by a quarter point at its rate-setting meeting scheduled for Dec. 9-10. The central bank has already cut rates by the same magnitude twice this year. The Trump administration is pressuring the central bank to reduce rates further to reinvigorate the domestic economy, which is facing multiple challenges, including a bloated fiscal deficit, a stuttering job market and inflation that stays above the central bank target.Also, at the October meeting, the Fed stated that it would end its quantitative tightening (QT), a stance that would allow it to shrink its balance sheet by allowing bonds to mature without reinvesting the proceeds.&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.mfs.com/en-gb/institutions-and-consultants/insights/market-insights/fed-ends-qt-what-it-means-markets.html">According</a> to MFS Investment Management, the end of QT would exert downward pressure on the dollar.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Will Seasonality Provide Thrust?</h2>Despite uncertainties, the U.S. market is entering one of its seasonally strong periods, following a robust performance so far this year. The year-end rally, referred to as the “Santa Claus rally,” is attributed to year-end tax strategies and portfolio rebalancing, end-of-the-year bonus deployment and to some extent to the holiday cheer.&nbsp;The S&amp;P 500 Index, a measure of broader market performance, has gained 16.5% this year, with megacap tech stocks exposed to artificial intelligence (AI) powering much of the advance. The index is trading just 1% below its all-time high. That said, year-end gains are not a given.
